Trauma lives in both the mind and body, making somatic approaches essential for deep and lasting healing. This workshop provides mental health professionals with a comprehensive understanding of how to integrate body-based interventions into trauma therapy.

Participants will explore the neuroscience of trauma and the nervous system, learning how trauma disrupts physiological regulation and how somatic interventions restore balance. This webinar will introduce key evidence-based somatic approaches, including Somatic Experiencing (SE), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Polyvagal Theory applications, and breathwork techniques. Through experiential exercises, case studies, and interactive discussions, clinicians will gain practical skills to incorporate somatic healing into their therapeutic practice, enhancing their ability to support trauma survivors in achieving regulation, resilience, and integration.

Upon completion of the webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the impact of trauma on the body and nervous system regulation.
  • Identify common somatic symptoms of trauma and their connection to autonomic dysregulation.
  • Utilize body-based interventions such as grounding, breathwork, movement, and interoceptive awareness to support trauma recovery.
  • Apply principles of Polyvagal Theory to help clients move from survival states to safety and connection.
