This training equips mental health professionals with the tools to identify, assess, and respond to religious trauma in adult clients. Participants will explore the neurobiological and psychological impacts of authoritarian belief systems and spiritual abuse. The course addresses developmental and cultural factors, including the experiences of LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, and other marginalized communities. Emphasis is placed on trauma-informed, ethically grounded strategies for assessment, treatment, and support—whether clients are deconstructing, remaining in faith communities, or navigating complex spiritual identities.

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the social, emotional, and spiritual impact of spiritual and religious trauma on adult clients.
  • Explain deconstruction in simple terms.
  • Use trauma-informed, ethically-grounded intervention strategies with survivors of spiritual and religious trauma.

Amanda Mole’, LCSW is a licensed Clinical Social Worker and qualified supervisor, with a Master of Social Work degree earned in 2017. She is the founder and owner of Harmony Within Counseling, LLC, a private practice dedicated to helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, and trauma-related conditions. Amanda specializes in treating issues surrounding abuse, relationships, and religious trauma, offering a compassionate and client-centered approach to healing.

In addition to her work in private practice, Amanda serves as an adjunct instructor for the Social Work program at the University of South Florida, where she enjoys educating and inspiring future social workers. With a strong commitment to both her clients and students, Amanda strives to foster growth, resilience, and empowerment in everyone she works with. Her passion for mental health and education drives her to create a space where individuals can experience true healing and harmony within themselves.
