This webinar introduces child and adolescent clinicians to developmentally appropriate hypnotic-based techniques for managing anxiety, somatic complaints, and emotional dysregulation. Participants will learn how to use metaphors, guided imagery, and imaginative scripts to help young clients feel safe in their bodies, reduce avoidant behavior, and increase emotional flexibility. Special emphasis is placed on using hypnotic-based interventions for nausea, sleep difficulties, and school-related stress. Attendees will leave with creative ideas for immediate use in the session. Participants with some knowledge of hypnosis and/or a strong interest in imaginative, play-based techniques.

Upon completion of the webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Apply age-appropriate hypnotic-based strategies to support emotional regulation in youth.
  • Use metaphors and guided imagery to address anxiety-related somatic symptoms.
  • Create developmentally sensitive interventions for social anxiety and school resistance.

Meet Your Facilitator

Samantha is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Infant Mental Health Expert (IMH-E®), EMDR Certified Therapist (EMDRIA), and Hypnobirthing Childbirth Educator. Holding dual master’s degrees in psychology from the New School and Clinical Psychology from La Salle University, she recently completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Fielding Graduate University, with a dissertation on parenting and serious mental illness (SMI).

Samantha’s integrative approach blends attachment-focused therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, expressive arts therapies, Internal Family Systems, clinical hypnosis, and EMDR. This trauma-informed framework enables her to connect with clients of all ages, particularly those facing complex trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, chronic illness, and mood disorders. She has also trained providers across health and wellness fields, teaches at multiple colleges, and is working toward certification as an EMDRIA-approved consultant.

With an additional specialty in disorders of gut-brain interaction (DGBIs), Samantha provides training and consultations that foster growth, understanding, and practical skills for clinicians. Her goal is to support clients and clinicians in their journeys, empowering them to achieve their goals through warmth, empathy, and collaborative support.
