This in-depth workshop explores Jungian shadow work as a framework for understanding disowned, hidden, or unconscious aspects of the self and their influence on psychological functioning and relationships. Participants will examine foundational Jungian concepts including the shadow, projection, complexes, archetypes, individuation, and symbolic imagery while learning practical clinical strategies for helping clients safely engage with shame, anger, vulnerability, internal conflict, and authenticity. Drawing from depth psychology, parts work, mindfulness, narrative therapy, and expressive approaches, the training emphasizes compassionate integration rather than pathologizing difficult or rejected aspects of the self. Trauma-informed pacing, ethical considerations, and therapist self-awareness will be woven throughout the workshop.
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Define core Jungian concepts related to shadow work and individuation.
- Identify common manifestations of shadow material in clinical practice.
- Recognize the role of projection, shame, and disowned emotions in psychological distress.
- Apply trauma-informed interventions that support safe exploration of shadow material.
- Utilize symbolic, reflective, and experiential techniques to facilitate shadow integration.
- Examine the therapist’s own shadow dynamics and their impact on the therapeutic relationship.
