This suicide intervention training course provides mental health professionals with practical, evidence-based strategies rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to support individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts and behaviors. The course explores how to identify warning signs, enhance coping skills, reduce emotional distress, and build psychological flexibility through structured interventions. Participants will learn to apply CBT techniques to challenge hopelessness and cognitive distortions, use DBT skills to increase distress tolerance and emotional regulation, and incorporate ACT strategies to foster values-based living and acceptance of painful experiences. Through interactive exercises and case-based learning, clinicians will gain the tools to respond compassionately and effectively in suicide crisis situations.

Upon completion of the webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Classify and describe various treatment modalities, including CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and ACT as they pertain to managing suicidality.
  • Explore the CBT suicide mode and interventions of cognitive evaluation of unhelpful beliefs.
  • Describe at least five DBT skills using mindfulness, distress tolerance, and emotional regulation.
  • Distinguish ACT principles from other approaches and practices of responding to suicidality, including defusion and self as context.
