Motivational Interviewing Part 1 (1.5HR)

In this course on Motivational Interviewing (MI) Part 1, the facilitator will begin by providing an overview of what Motivational Interviewing is, the purpose behind its design and implementation, and will conclude with an explanation of the four elements of Motivational Interviewing “spirit”: Acceptance, Collaboration, Evocation, and Compassion. Participants will be able to effectively implement the use of OARS skills.

Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the four elements of Motivational Interviewing (MI) “spirit”
  • Define Miller and Rollnick’s “four processes” of MI
  • Demonstrate “OARS” skills

This course qualifies for 1.5 CE hours of General Skill Building and Evidence-Based Practices training.
