Navigating Countertransference: Strengthening Self-Awareness and Clinical Effectiveness (2HR)
Countertransference is an inevitable part of therapeutic work, yet when unexamined, it
can impact clinical decision-making, boundaries, and client outcomes. This course will
provide therapists with tools to recognize, process, and manage countertransference
effectively. Through self-reflection, boundary-setting strategies, and practical case
discussions, participants will gain greater confidence in navigating their emotional
responses while maintaining professional integrity and therapeutic effectiveness.
Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:
- Recognize and Understand Countertransference
- Develop Self-Awareness, Emotion Regulation, and Implement Healthy Boundaries
- Apply Strategies for Processing Countertransference
- Apply Countertransference Awareness to Enhance Clinical Insight
Social workers completing this course receive 2 Ethics asynchronous continuing education credits.
For other board approvals, this course qualifies for 2 Ethics continuing education training.
