This webinar is designed to equip therapists with evidence-based strategies for helping clients manage chronic pain through psychological interventions. Chronic pain is not just a physical experience—it is deeply intertwined with emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. This workshop will explore the role of pain neuroscience education, mindfulness, Emotional Freedom Technique, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and acceptance-based approaches in reducing pain-related distress and improving quality of life. Through psychoeducation, interactive discussions and practical exercises, you will learn how to help clients shift their relationship with pain, build resilience, and regain a sense of control over their lives.
Upon completion of the webinar, participants will be able to:
- Identify the psychological and neurological mechanisms that contribute to chronic pain and its maintenance.
- Describe evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including CBT, ACT, and mindfulness, for managing pain-related distress.
- Implement practical interventions to help clients reframe their pain experience, reduce suffering, and improve daily functioning.
- Assess the impact of trauma, stress, and emotional regulation on the pain experience and tailor interventions accordingly.
- Describe the role of self-compassion, values-based living, and behavioral activation in fostering long-term pain resilience.
- Implement strategies for addressing pain catastrophizing, fear-avoidance behaviors, and the psychological barriers to relief.
