Working With Inner Critic Parts is a 3-hour virtual, experiential workshop rooted in Internal Family Systems (IFS) concepts and creative reflection. Instead of trying to “get rid of” client’s inner critic parts, you’ll learn how to recognize them as protective parts with jobs to do—even if their delivery is…intense. We’ll explore common inner critic archetypes like the Perfectionist, Taskmaster, and Guilt Tripper, then gently practice unblending and responding from Self-energy using the 8 Cs (Calm, Curiosity, Compassion, etc.).

Through gentle exploration of your own parts, you’ll leave with a clearer understanding of inner critic patterns, compassionate ways to engage them in session work, and practical tools you can pass on to your clients when their inner critic parts show up mid-email, mid-conflict, or mid-2am spiral. Creative exercises (collage, journaling, simple drawing) are offered as optional ways to access insight—no artistic skills or prior IFS training required.

Upon completion of the webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and map at least one “Inner Critic part” by naming its main message, common triggers, and its underlying fear/protective intention.
  • Apply IFS-informed “Self-energy” skills by practicing at least 3 of the 8 Cs (e.g., Curiosity, Compassion, Calm) to shift from blending with the critic into a more grounded, resourced relationship with it.
  • Learn tools to create a personalized “response plan” for future inner critic moments.
