According to the American Cancer Society, 2 million Americans will be diagnosed with cancer in 2024. What issues most affect those diagnosed with cancer? How are these patients and families supported in our mental health communities? In this webinar, we will identify the most commonly expressed cancer concerns and how we can support both the client and their families. By addressing the diverse needs of the entire family, this holistic approach aims to alleviate the burden of cancer and improve the overall quality of life for everyone involved.

Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Discover the scope of cancer incidence and define the most common concerns of cancer clients.
  • Demonstrate ways to support families impacted by cancer.
  • Develop effective communication skills when working with cancer-affected clients.
  • Express measures that help prevent compassion fatigue to remain healthy to allow for continued services to clients and families.
