This webinar equips mental health professionals with essential skills in risk assessment, clinical inquiry, and safety planning to effectively identify and respond to individuals at risk of suicide. Participants will learn how to conduct thorough suicide risk assessments using evidence-based tools, engage in sensitive and effective clinical conversations to uncover suicidal ideation and intent, and develop collaborative, personalized safety plans that prioritize client safety and promote ongoing support. The course emphasizes practical application through case studies, role-play, and clinical documentation, preparing clinicians to intervene confidently and ethically in high-risk situations.
Upon completion of the webinar, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the value of and their responsibility for thorough suicide screening and assessment.
- Identify empathic and non-judgmental techniques to elicit suicide risk in each client.
- Formulate methods of implementing screenings and assessments to determine a client’s suicide risk level and complete necessary documentation.
