Please join us for a fresh perspective on assessing and treating trauma.  Participants will gain insight into identifying presenting issues that may have trauma as an underlying cause, assessments to inform diagnosis and treatment goals, and some fresh perspective on creative approaches that focus on solutions and positive aspects of everyday life.  The parallel of walking with clients on their journey is the lens through which participants will view this training. A special focus on culture is a bonus to understanding the complex nuances of working with clients challenged by traumatic experiences.

In addition to the course objectives, attendees will gain knowledge in:
-Evidence-based tools to assess trauma, resulting in trauma-informed treatment plans.
-Strategies to identify local resources to support clients.
-Using a team approach to address trauma issues with clients.

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize, assess, and identify two presenting signs of trauma in clients.
  • Identify two evidence-based modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotional Freedom Technique, relaxation techniques, and at least two new creative tools to give clients dealing with trauma.
  • Identify two aspects of how cultural beliefs and practices can influence responses to trauma.
  • Compare and Contrast an organization’s practices and policies that re-traumatize clients with policies and insight that reflect trauma-informed care.
