Part one of this three course Empowered Healer series, provides an overview of the psychosocial and theoretical causes of healthcare professional (HCP) burnout and career related mental health and substance abuse/dependency. Participants will gain a basic theoretical perspective of this psychosocial problem and interventions through experiential, didactic, mindfulness, Jungian, humanistic, and compassionate communication instruction. Participants will have an opportunity to experientially practice by bringing self-awareness to their own wounding and needs. Participants will be able to understand and identify underlying and outlying causes of the psychological and emotional wounding of HCP. Understand the origins of the “Caregiver Complex” and learn modalities and interventions to help themselves and others to conquer burnout, moral injury, trauma.
Upon completion of the webinar, participants will be able to:
- Define theoretical causes for HCP burn out, moral injury, compassion fatigue and trauma.
- Identify and distinguish the difference between impairment, wounding and empowerment of HCP.
- Describe strengths and shadow aspects of healers and the purpose of integration.
- Educate clients on terms such as parentification, moral injury, the caregiver complex universal needs and how it applies to HCP.
