Clinical supervision in social work and mental health is when a supervisor helps social workers and counselors develop their skills and practice. The goal is to protect clients and ensure high-quality services. This live webinar reviews nine models of supervision, provides guidance in determining a theory-based supervision approach, and provides an overview of the effectiveness of using various methods and techniques in supervision. The visual, auditory, reader/writer, and kinesthetic or VARK Questionnaire is reviewed to assist supervisors in assessing the supervisee’s learning styles.
Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:
- Review and differentiate between the nine models of supervision and how to choose the best method for optimal supervisee learning.
- Review the application and implications of using the VARK Questionnaire to determine supervisee learning style.
- Determine a theory-based supervision approach.
- Define the rationale for using a variety of methods and techniques in supervision.
