This 3-hour training is designed for mental health therapists who have foundational knowledge and want to deepen their expertise in working with TGNC clients. Through interactive discussions, case studies, and practical tools, participants will explore complex clinical scenarios, address intersectional identities, and learn advanced strategies to provide affirming, empowering, and trauma-informed care.

Upon completion of the webinar, participants will be able to:

Challenge personal biases to cultivate an affirming, inclusive and trauma-informed practice.
Increase understanding of risk factors specific to working with TGNC clients.
Analyze the impact of intersecting identities (e.g., race, disability, socioeconomic status) on TGNC clients’ experiences and therapeutic needs to inform inclusive and affirming practices.

Evaluation / Certificate: Within 4 hours of the completion of the webinar, participants will receive an email with a link to complete an evaluation. Once completed, the participant will be able to download/print the certificate.

System Requirements: Internet and the ability to log into Zoom webinars when provided a meeting link which will be sent upon registration.

Interactive Webinar: This is a live & interactive webinar which means that participants can interact with other participants and the instructor in live time. Participants must be signed in by the webinar start time, attend the entire course, and complete the course evaluation to receive CE credit. Partial credit is not provided.

Meet Your Facilitator

Jessica Maroun, LPC has 20 years of dedicated experience in the mental health field, Jessica (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Connecticut. Jessica has worked in diverse environments—from adolescent group homes to outpatient clinics—bringing a wealth of expertise to her current role as Assistant Clinical Director in a group private practice. Her extensive training includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Neurodiversity Training, and Gender Affirming Support (Gender ASSET).

Jessica is especially passionate about supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, advocating for equitable access to affirming and supportive care. She provides assessments and letters of support for transgender and gender non-conforming individuals seeking gender-affirming medical care, ensuring their journeys are met with compassion and understanding.
