The relationship between anxiety, depression, and social media usage is a topic of growing
interest and concern. This webinar will examine the latest research regarding the use of social
media and its use by children, adolescents, and adults. While we will touch on safety concerns,
we will be more closely examining issues of anxiety, depression, heightened loneliness, and
addictive behavior. Additionally, we will discuss positive uses of social media, including areas
where it enhances well-being.
Upon completion of the training, the participants will be able to:
- Determine the latest research into social media use across the lifespan, including its influence on children, adolescents, and adults.
- Identify the risks that are associated with social media, such as increased social isolation, anxiety, and addictive behavior.
- Identify promising treatment modalities that might mitigate the negative effects of social media usage.
- Develop guidelines and assessment questions around social media usage that would be helpful for clients.
