Equipping clinicians to address the mental health impacts of racial trauma on Black men is essential. This training provides participants with the tools and strategies needed to support their mental health and healing. Rooted in cultural humility and anti-racist practice, this course offers evidence-based strategies to recognize, respond to, and heal racialized trauma in clinical settings. Participants will examine the intersection of race, mental health, and social determinants of health, gaining a deeper understanding of the unique adversities Black men face.
Through real-life case studies, this workshop will explore critical topics such as police brutality, racial profiling, and “the talk” within a therapeutic context. Participants will learn how to foster safe, inclusive, and empowering spaces while integrating practical clinical strategies to promote resilience and healing for Black men.

Upon completion of the webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the mental health impacts of racial trauma on Black men and their implications for clinical practice.
  • Analyze the impact of police brutality, racial profiling, and systemic discrimination on the mental health of Black men.
  • Identify signs and symptoms of racial trauma in Black male clients, enhancing clinical assessment and intervention strategies.
  • Implement culturally responsive and anti-racist clinical techniques to establish trust and facilitate healing within the therapeutic relationship.
