More mental health professionals are curious about how to deepen their practical skills and theoretical knowledge to effectively use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for clients experiencing anxiety and depression. Grounded in the development of psychological flexibility, this webinar explores ACT’s six core processes: cognitive diffusion, acceptance, contact with the present moment, self-as-context, values clarification, and committed action. Participants will learn how these processes help clients relate differently to distressing thoughts and emotions, reduce avoidance behaviors, and build meaningful, values-based lives—even in the presence of anxiety and depressive symptoms. Through interactive exercises, clinical examples, and video demonstrations, this course equips clinicians to apply ACT techniques with confidence and compassion.

Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of ACT basic principles and psychological flexibility.
  • Identify and explain the six core processes of ACT.
  • Experiment with at least two ACT interventions in clinical practice for depression and anxiety.
  • Reflect on methods and rationale for incorporating ACT interventions into work with clients who have depression and anxiety.
