This comprehensive training course is designed for mental health professionals seeking to enhance their skills in using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to treat adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The course will provide an in-depth exploration of how ACT’s principles and techniques can be uniquely applied to address the challenges adults with ADHD face, including difficulties with attention, impulsivity, and emotional regulation.
The training will also cover how to tailor ACT interventions to the specific needs of ADHD clients, addressing common comorbidities such as anxiety and depression and fostering resilience and psychological flexibility. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to implement ACT strategies effectively, empowering their clients to live more fulfilling and value-driven lives despite the challenges of ADHD.

Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Delineate the core tenets of Acceptance Commitment Therapy and how they are applied in the clinical setting.
  • Identify adult presentation of ADHD, including understanding differences in how genders present with ADHD.
  • Apply ACT interventions to ADHD, when looking specifically at emotion regulation and attentional issues and helping with comorbidities such as depression and anxiety.
