Clinicians serve as instruments of change for the client populations they support. While clinical work can be rich in reward there is, too, the potential for burnout and secondary trauma in the life of a dedicated clinician. This workshop is designed to guide clinicians to a deeper awareness of the ways in which their work results in stress that may not easily be left behind at the office at the end of tiresome workday. Through the use of expressive arts, participants will explore their own professional stress and connect with tools to support healthy and effective processing of those more difficult clinical moments.
Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:
- Explore Sources of Professional Stress
- Establish foundational knowledge of Expressive Arts
- Define and Apply the “Phased Approach” to Expressive Arts
- Identify Expressive Arts Tools for Ongoing Practice
