Self-compassion—treating oneself with kindness, understanding, and care in moments of struggle—is a powerful evidence-based approach that promotes emotional healing and psychological resilience. This training introduces clinicians to the theory, research, and clinical applications of self-compassion practices. Drawing from mindfulness, compassion-focused therapy, and positive psychology, this training explores how self-compassion can reduce shame, support trauma recovery, and strengthen clients’ capacity to cope with life’s challenges. Through experiential exercises, discussion, and practical strategies, participants will learn how to guide clients in cultivating a more compassionate inner dialogue and integrating these skills into daily life.

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the core components of self-compassion and their relevance to mental health.
  • Describe at least two ways self-compassion practices can support clients’ healing and resilience.
  • Apply at least two clinical interventions to help clients cultivate self-compassion in therapy.
