Trauma is a complex, multidimensional experience that shapes an individual’s biology, psychology, and social relationships. This webinar offers clinicians a comprehensive exploration of trauma through an integrative lens, grounded in current research and evidence-based practices. Participants will deepen their understanding of how trauma affects the brain and body, how it shapes internal psychological processes, and how social and systemic factors can both contribute to and buffer against trauma’s impact. Through case examples, neuroscience-informed education, and interactive discussion, this training will empower providers to better assess, conceptualize, and support trauma survivors in clinical practice. Special attention will be given to developmental and complex trauma, as well as how social determinants of health and intergenerational trauma influence healing and resilience.

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the neurobiological effects of trauma on the brain and nervous system.
  • Identify common psychological responses and adaptations to trauma, including dissociation, hypervigilance, and attachment disruptions.
  • Recognize the role of social, cultural, and systemic factors in the experience and recovery from trauma.
  • Apply a biopsychosocial lens to trauma assessment and treatment planning.
  • Integrate trauma-informed principles into clinical work to enhance safety, empowerment, and healing.
