Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) are the conditions in the environments where people are born, live, learn, work, play, worship, and age. They affect nearly everyone in a wide range of health, functioning, and quality-of-life outcomes and risks. This webinar will explore the key areas of SDOH and how impactful they are in our clients’ lives. An immersive experiential exercise will challenge learners to imagine the influence of SDOH’s in their lives. Screenings and clinical recommendations for addressing SDOH’s in clinical practice will be explored. Learners will be provided with resources to explore the impact of SDOH with clients.
Upon completion of the webinar, participants will be able to:
- Define and describe five key social determinants of health and core implications.
- Explain the value of social determinants of health in social work practice, including three key benefits.
- Formulate methods of integrating social determinants of health discussions and supports into practice.
