This webinar will help you harness the power of storytelling to facilitate healing and transformation for your clients. You will learn the foundational principles of narrative therapy, including externalization, reauthoring, and the role of language in shaping identity. We will also explore Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey as a guiding framework for understanding clients’ struggles, growth, and resilience. By integrating these approaches, you can help your clients reframe their experiences, reclaim agency, and construct more empowering personal narratives.

Through experiential exercises, discussion and practical applications, you will learn how to incorporate narrative interventions into your clinical work across diverse populations. This training will provide concrete tools for guiding clients through their own “hero’s journey,” helping them navigate challenges, recognize their strengths, and move toward preferred futures. You will leave with new insights and creative strategies for supporting clients in rewriting their life stories with meaning and purpose.

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Define the core components of narrative therapy.
  • Identify the stages of the Hero’s Journey.
  • Identify the clinical use of combining narrative therapy and the hero’s journey.
  • Explain how to use the Hero’s Journey for improved client outcomes.
  • Apply the Hero’s Journey clinically.
  • Implement the Hero’s Journey with diverse populations.
