Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) offers an evidence-based, mindfulness-centered approach to helping clients manage anxiety by fostering psychological flexibility. Rather than attempting to eliminate anxious thoughts and feelings, ACT helps clients build a new relationship with their inner experiences—one rooted in acceptance, value-based action, and present-moment awareness. In this webinar you will learn practical strategies to help clients unhook from unhelpful thought patterns, reduce experiential avoidance, and take meaningful steps toward the life they want to live. Through a blend of theory, experiential exercises, and case discussions, you will gain confidence in applying ACT to a range of anxiety-related concerns.
Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:
- Identify the six core processes of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and their role in treating anxiety disorders.
- Describe how cognitive defusion, acceptance, and values clarification can help clients reduce avoidance and increase psychological flexibility.
- Implement ACT-based interventions to help clients manage anxiety, cultivate present-moment awareness, and take meaningful, value-driven action.
