This introductory webinar offers clinicians a practical overview of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), an evidence-based therapeutic modality also known as “tapping”—a mind-body approach that combines elements of cognitive therapy with acupressure to reduce emotional distress and support nervous system regulation. Grounded in principles from both psychology and energy medicine, EFT is increasingly used to address anxiety, trauma, phobias, and limiting beliefs. Participants will learn the basic tapping sequence, the theory behind its effects, and how to introduce this technique in a trauma-informed, clinically appropriate way. The training will also explore the research base and ethical considerations for integrating EFT into psychotherapy.

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the foundational principles and proposed mechanisms of action behind Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).
  • Apply the basic EFT tapping sequence and its application for managing emotional distress.
  • Identify ethical and clinical considerations for incorporating EFT into psychotherapy in a trauma-informed and culturally responsive manner.
