Group supervision offers a rich, collaborative environment where supervisees learn from their own experiences and through observing and engaging with their supervisors and peers. This lunch-n-learn explores group supervision as a shared learning space that fosters professional growth, critical reflection, and mutual support. Clinicians will examine the relational and developmental dynamics unique to group supervision, including the balance of safety and challenge, the use of feedback within peer interactions, and the supervisor’s role in facilitating inclusive and growth-oriented dialogue. Emphasis will be placed on practical strategies for cultivating group cohesion, addressing interpersonal challenges, and leveraging collective wisdom to enhance clinical competence. Through discussion and case examples, attendees will gain insights into how group supervision can deepen learning, strengthen professional identity, and promote a culture of reflective practice. Beginner and experienced clinical supervisors as well as professionals across all helping professions are welcomed to attend.
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Describe key concepts of group work that inform the practice of clinical supervision.
- Define the essential features and functions of clinical group supervision.
- Identify and explain at least three core principles that contribute to effective group supervision.
