This course provides clinicians with practical strategies to assess and treat health anxiety, a condition marked by excessive worry about illness and misinterpretation of physical sensations. Participants will explore how health anxiety develops and is maintained through cognitive, behavioral, and emotional processes. The course introduces the concept of workability—evaluating whether anxiety-driven behaviors are aligned with clients’ values and well-being—as a foundation for intervention. Clinicians will learn to guide clients in creating personalized anxiety management plans, incorporating tools such as mindfulness, affirmations, and self-compassion practices to reduce distress and enhance emotional regulation. Emphasis will be placed on building insight, disrupting the anxiety cycle, and fostering a more balanced relationship with health-related thoughts and fears.

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Identify at least five anxiety strategies for the management of anxiety.
  • Explain different approaches to supporting patients in health and mental health related anxiety.
