This affirming and informative webinar offers clinicians a foundational understanding of how to provide culturally competent, inclusive, and ethically sound care to LGBTQ+ clients. Participants will explore key concepts related to gender identity, sexual orientation, and the diverse lived experiences within LGBTQ+ communities. The training will address the mental health impacts of stigma, discrimination, and minority stress, as well as the importance of affirming language, intersectionality, and therapist self-awareness. Clinicians will gain practical strategies for creating safe therapeutic spaces and supporting clients with issues ranging from coming out and identity exploration to trauma and resilience.
