Performance Psychology: Keys to Succeeding Under Pressure (3HR)

Stage fright is no joke: If you have a client who gets nervous or even debilitated at the prospect of doing something in front of other people, then this training is for you!

During our time together, you’ll become familiar with the principles of peak performance psychology. You’ll also learn a series of cognitive, somatic, and image-based interventions that can provide emotional relief before, during, and after a performance.

Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the basic tenets of performance psychology
  • Discuss at least five interventions for addressing performance anxiety
  • Recognize when to apply particular interventions
  • Describe how to best prepare for a performance
  • Describe how to manage the anxiety that occurs during a performance
  • Discuss how to alleviate emotional distress after a poor performance

Social workers completing this course receive 3 General asynchronous continuing education credits.

For other board approvals, this course qualifies for 3 hours of General Skill Building continuing education training.

Course Instructor: Dreya Blume is a licensed clinical social worker, with her MSW from Radford University and an MA in anthropology from the University of Hawaii.
