Managing Challenging Behaviors in Older Adults (3HR)

Clinicians and caregivers may find themselves overwhelmed with responding to challenging behaviors from older adults. Whether because of neurocognitive disorders, medication side effects, or personality traits, challenging behaviors are stressful for staff to manage and appropriately respond to. Learn about how challenging behaviors may present in older adults, possible origins and key areas to assess, and best practices for responding in person-centered and effective ways. Provider self-management will be discussed as a key factor in appropriately responding to these types of challenging behaviors.
