Integrating Parts Work into Trauma Treatment Using Internal Family Systems Therapy (3HR)

Integrating Parts Work into Trauma Treatment Using Internal Family Systems Therapy (3HR)

Serving our clients with complex trauma and dissociative disorders can be challenging. Yet there is hope as the field of trauma studies rapidly grows and our knowledge base expands. In this training, participants will learn how to use clinical strategies based on Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) to inspire confidence in treating complex post-traumatic stress disorder. We will use Frank Anderson’s book “Transcending Trauma” as our guide as we explore a practical roadmap for healing from trauma based on parts work, neurobiology, and compassion.

Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Identify strategies to ameliorate severe symptoms of PTSD
  • Recognize how Internal Family Systems integrates parts work in understanding trauma
  • Discuss how parts work can be used to heal from trauma
  • Apply strategies based on IFS with clients dealing with complex and dissociative trauma

Social workers completing this course receive 3 Clinical asynchronous continuing education credits.

For other board approvals, this course qualifies for 3 hours of Clinical continuing education training.
