Grief Demystified: Understanding Loss and the Work of Healing (3HR)
This foundational grief workshop is designed to help participants build a deeper understanding of the complex nature of grief and loss. Through a compassionate and informative approach, the course defines grief in its many forms, exploring common types and causes—from death and divorce to job loss and life transitions. Participants will examine key models of grief, including the stages and processes individuals may experience, and learn about supportive interventions that can aid in healing. The course highlights the wide range of emotional, physical, cognitive, and behavioral responses to grief, promoting greater awareness and empathy. This training provides practical tools and thoughtful perspectives for navigating grief with sensitivity and respect.
Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to:
- Define grief and loss, including common types and causes.
- Identify the stages, processes, and interventions regarding grief.
- Recognize the emotional, physical, cognitive, and behavioral responses to grief.
