The Two Faces of Self-Compassion- Teaching the Yin and Yang of Self-Compassion to Clients
$32.00
Self-compassion is a technique that has been shown by science to reduce depression, minimize the impact of anxiety, and increase emotional regulation. When we speak of self-compassion with clients, it can feel so hard for people to implement self-compassion in their lives for a few reasons. Sometimes people feel compelled to continue using self-deprecation as a way to push or motivate the self, but science says this does not work, especially in the long term. In this training, we will discuss the barriers to using self-compassion and how to overcome them. We will also talk about how self-compassion can be both comforting and motivating, sometimes at the same time.
Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to:
- Identify barriers clients encounter to using self-compassion
- Teach clients about the yin and the yang of self-compassion
- Implement skills to increase self-compassion in sessions
