Are you interested in learning more about the core concepts of grief? This training will describe different types of grievers, how clinicians can support grieving clients, and therapeutic grief work interventions. Learn about types of losses, such as ambiguous, disenfranchised, and complicated grief. Supporting clients in grief therapy is a vital skillset, and this training will enhance clinicians’ comfort and confidence in grief work.

Upon completion of this training participants will be able to:

Summarize at least three key considerations of loss and grief.
Identify and classify types of grief and grief reactions and examine various aspects of grief.
Formulate strategies and interventions for supporting grieving individuals.

Social workers completing this course receive 2 Clinical asynchronous continuing education credits.

For other board approvals, this course qualifies for 2 hours of Clinical continuing education training.

Course Format

Recorded Live Webinar with downloadable presentation slides and/or handouts, evaluation, and a required quiz. The learner is required to pass with a 70% or higher to achieve the CE certificate of completion. The learner is able to reset the test until a satisfactory score is achieved. Meet Your Facilitator

Diane Bigler, LCSW, LSCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Missouri and Kansas with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field. She has held clinical positions as an outpatient and in-home therapist, and clinical supervisor. Diane was an Adjunct Professor of Social Work for 10 years at The University of Kansas, School of Social Welfare, and a Field Liaison and Field Instructor. She has also held administrative positions as a Program Director and Coordinator.

Diane is a popular local and national trainer on a wide variety of mental health and workplace development topics for clinicians and corporations. Diane is most passionate about providing quality professional development to clinicians, employees, and leaders. For fun, Diane loves to spoil her four Dachshunds and rock out to 80’s music.
