This training is designed to equip mental health professionals with foundational knowledge and practical skills in utilizing EMDR-informed techniques within therapy sessions. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful, evidence-based approach to addressing trauma, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. Participants will learn how to integrate EMDR principles and modified strategies into their current practice to support clients in processing distressing memories, reducing emotional reactivity, and building resilience.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to
Describe the core principles and theoretical underpinnings of EMDR therapy.
Identify appropriate situations to use EMDR-informed interventions in therapy sessions.
Utilize EMDR-informed practices to promote emotional regulation, resilience, and adaptive functioning in clients.
Recorded Live Webinar with downloadable presentation slides and/or handouts, evaluation, and a required quiz. The learner is required to pass with a 70% or higher to achieve the CE certificate of completion. The learner is able to reset the test until a satisfactory score is achieved. CE Training Workshops, LLC, provider #1770, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 8/2/2022 – 8/2/2025. Jessica Maroun, LPC has 20 years of dedicated experience in the mental health field, Jessica (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Connecticut. She earned her Bachelor’s in Social Work from Central Connecticut State University and her Master’s in Clinical Counseling from Post University. Jessica has worked in diverse environments—from adolescent group homes to outpatient clinics—bringing a wealth of expertise to her current role as Assistant Clinical Director in a group private practice.
