This training covers the principles and application of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for treating PTSD. It focuses on identifying and resolving maladaptive beliefs, known as “stuck points,” and understanding trauma’s impact on cognition and emotions. Participants will learn structured techniques to support clients in processing trauma and achieving recovery. The course emphasizes evidence-based practices and tools for addressing the challenges of PTSD.

Upon completion of this training, learners will be able to:

  • Explain the core principles and goals of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
  • Identify and address “stuck points” in clients’ thought patterns.
  • Understand trauma’s impact on cognition, emotions, and behaviors.
  • Apply evidence-based CPT techniques to improve therapeutic outcomes.

Social workers completing this course receive 3 Clinical asynchronous continuing education credits.
