The Ethics of Cultural Competence (2HR)
The Ethics of Cultural Competence (2HR)
This training is designed to help you navigate the ethical responsibilities of providing culturally responsive care. As our client populations become increasingly diverse, it is essential for clinicians to recognize how cultural values, biases, and systemic factors shape the therapeutic process. This training will explore ethical guidelines related to cultural competence, including issues of informed consent, power dynamics, and avoiding harm through cultural humility. You will engage in self-reflection, case discussions, and practical strategies to enhance your ability to work ethically and effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that therapy remains an inclusive and affirming space for all.
Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to:
- Implement ethically-based culturally competent care.
- Identify the components of cultural competence.
- Understand how to best serve clients from different cultures.
