This training is designed to help you explore the transformative power of radical acceptance in clinical practice. Rooted in mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Buddhist psychology, radical acceptance offers a path for clients to release resistance, reduce suffering, and embrace life as it is. This training will examine the psychological mechanisms behind acceptance, common barriers to letting go, and practical interventions that you can use to help clients cultivate self-compassion and emotional resilience. Through experiential exercises, psychoeducation, and guided practices, you will learn how to integrate radical acceptance into therapy to support clients in navigating pain, loss, and change with greater ease and empowerment.

  • Define “radical acceptance”
  • Identify the clinical benefits of radical acceptance
  • Implement radical acceptance in session

Social workers completing this course receive 3 Clinical asynchronous continuing education credits.
