Supporting Clients with ADHD: Tools for Lasting Change (1.5HR) Presented by Dreya Blume, LCSW
This training equips clinicians with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively support clients living with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of ADHD’s neurological and behavioral underpinnings, along with how symptoms present across different stages of life. The training will highlight common therapeutic challenges—such as motivation, organization, and emotional regulation—while offering practical, evidence-informed strategies for addressing them in session. Special attention will be given to strengths-based approaches that help clients build self-compassion, resilience, and adaptive coping skills. Attendees will leave with actionable techniques to enhance therapeutic effectiveness and foster positive change for individuals with ADHD.
Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to
- Define the core features and clinical presentation of ADHD across the lifespan.
- Identify common challenges and therapeutic barriers faced by clients with ADHD.
- Demonstrate strategies to support emotional regulation, executive functioning, and self-compassion in clients with ADHD.
Social workers completing this course receive 1.5 Clinical asynchronous continuing education credits.
For other board approvals, this course qualifies for 1.5 hours of Clinical continuing education training.
