Exploring Effective Trauma Treatment Strategies (3HR)

The treatment of trauma continues to be a central focus in psychotherapy. This workshop is designed to explore specific resilience-based trauma therapy interventions for clients who have experienced trauma. The eight guides to trauma treatment will be presented along with core trauma competencies for clinicians. Cultural considerations in advanced trauma treatment will be discussed, and learners will have the opportunity to use critical thinking skills by examining case studies that encourage application of advanced trauma treatment techniques. Modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, somatic experiencing, and Seeking Safety will be outlined.

Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Identify eight guides to effective and evidenced-based trauma treatment.
  • Describe core clinician competencies of advanced trauma treatment.
  • Explain at least three resilience-based advanced trauma treatment strategies.

Social workers completing this course receive 3 Clinical asynchronous continuing education credits.

For other board approvals, this course qualifies for 3 hours of Clinical continuing education training.
