Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. CE Training Workshops maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 8/2/2022 to 8/2/2023. In this course on Motivational Interviewing (MI) Part 1, the facilitator will begin by providing an overview of what Motivational Interviewing is, the purpose behind its design and implementation, and will conclude with an explanation of the four elements of Motivational Interviewing “spirit”: Acceptance, Collaboration, Evocation, and Compassion. Participants will be able to effectively implement the use of OARS skills.
Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:
- Explain the four elements of Motivational Interviewing (MI) “spirit”
- Define Miller and Rollnick’s “four processes” of MI.
- Demonstrate “OARS” skills.
